Austin New Church, Austin, TX
Faith communities are taking a stand against slavery their backyards and around the globe. Austin New Church, in Austin, Texas is an excellent example of this. Serious about the call to re-abolish slavery, they not only are participating in Freedom Sunday, but they are helping launch anti-slavery work in Austin and Eastern Europe. They are allocating leadership and financial resources towards creating new futures for those vulnerable and those enslaved.

Friends Church, Yorba Linda, CA
Friends Church has a heart for the least and the lost. A special calling to the Dalit population of India has resulted in an upcoming film about human trafficking in India and what we can all do about it.
Friends Church will be hosting the Stop paying for Slavery tour featuring David Batstone and Brant Christopher on September 18 and 19, 2010. Additionally, Friends Church will be hosting the Global Forum on Human Trafficking, October 13-15, 2010.

Overlake Christian Church, Redmond, WA
“Love God, Love People, Serve the World” is the vision of Overlake Christian Church. This vision empowers the members of this vibrant faith community to reach people in their neighborhoods and has given them a special passion to care for street children.

Lakeside Community Fellowship, Lake Stevens, WA
Lakeside is part of the Free Methodist Denomination which has a “special preference for the poor.” Lakeside seeks to live out holistically what it means to follow Jesus in their community and world.
The original Freedom Sunday campaigns of 2009, and 2010 were overseen by staff and lay helpers at Lakeside and they are continuing to provide significant leadership towards making their city and county slave free. Additionally, Not for Sale’s Director of the Abolitionist Faith Community, Kevin Austin, serves on Lakeside’s pastoral staff.
